ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION & THE POSITION.

In 2018, at only 20 years of age, Conor J. Long died suddenly and tragically in a hiking accident.  Conor had an endless capacity for compassion and an unwavering commitment to being kind.  Conor set an example for having a life well lived that continues to inspire scores of individuals.  The Conor J. Long Foundation was established to inspire individuals to take action in their communities; we exist to assist the elderly, help the disabled, nurture leadership development and help families in need in the WNY community just as Conor would have.

POSITION SUMMARY…

This position will play a key role in advancing the effectiveness of The Conor J. Long Foundation’s growth and success through the use of it’s digital and social media presence.  By coordinating and designing digital components for The Conor J. Long Foundation, this individual will identify the opportunity to use existing and emerging tactics for advancing the Foundation’s identity and increase engagement in events both through additional volunteers and participants.   This includes the development of new digital programs and initiatives to support the Foundation’s short & long-term growth. This intern will work with The CJL’s Marketing/PR Committee Co-Chairs in conjunction with the Foundation’s Fundraising & Events Committees to deliver timely and engaging digital applications. The Foundation’s Intern will be provided a calendar of events from which to anticipate the timing of and tenor of needed digital content.

NOTE: It is an unpaid internship, but can be used for school credit.

INTERNSHIP TIME-FRAME: March 1, 2024 through Summer 2024

DUTIES…

- Routine check in with Co-Chairs of the Marketing/PR Committee 

- Create & implement digital graphics for the foundation’s social media pages & website 

- Brainstorm creative ways for volunteers & supporters to interact with the foundation through social media

- Assist the Fundraising Committee during the planning process for the foundation Golf Tournament coming in August of 2024

-Attend the CJL Foundation Spring Clean Up (2 day event) in May 2024 to collect digital content (video & photography) & social media posts

-Prior to CJL Board meetings, meet with the PR/Marketing Committee Co-Chairs to  review analytics from the foundation’s social media pages & develop a report which will be presented to our Board of Directors 

- Coordinate with Marketing/PR committee to assist with designing of digital advertisements for all foundation events & brand identity

-Revise The CJL Foundation website using content changes provided; suggestions for additional website content invited

- Available to assist the foundation on weekdays and some weekends 

- Flexible to schedule changes

- Ability to work in a team setting & individually 

- Strong familiarity with X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook and TikTok

- Up to date with “digital trends”  

- Proficient in Adobe Suite 

- Proficient in Microsoft Office
